Atolla Jellyfish
Fast Facts
When threatened, the atolla jellyfish gives off a series of flashes of blue light, looking much like the flashing blue light on top of a police car. Scientists believe the atolla jellyfish uses this feature to attract other potential predators that will then attack the predator threatening the atolla jellyfish. This has earned the atolla jellyfish the nickname "the alarm jelly." Their red color helps them disappear into the darkness of the deep sea.
